What is the formulation of acrylic wall putty?

Acrylic Wall Putty is a water-based, acrylic-based, interior wall putty designed to provide a smooth, even finish to interior walls and ceilings. It is formulated with a combination of acrylic resins, pigments, and fillers that provide excellent adhesion, durability, and flexibility.

The formulation of Acrylic Wall Putty consists of the following:

1. Acrylic Resins: Acrylic resins are used in the formulation of Acrylic Wall Putty to provide excellent adhesion and durability. These resins are typically a combination of acrylic copolymers and acrylic monomers. The copolymers provide the strength and flexibility while the monomers provide the adhesion and durability.

2. Pigments: Pigments are used in the formulation of Acrylic Wall Putty to provide color and opacity. These pigments are typically a combination of organic and inorganic pigments. The organic pigments provide the color while the inorganic pigments provide the opacity.

3. Fillers: Fillers are used in the formulation of Acrylic Wall Putty to provide texture and fill in any gaps or imperfections in the wall. These fillers are typically a combination of silica, calcium carbonate, and talc. The silica provides the texture while the calcium carbonate and talc provide the filling.

4. Additives: Additives are used in the formulation of Acrylic Wall Putty to provide additional properties such as water resistance, UV resistance, and mildew resistance. These additives are typically a combination of surfactants, defoamers, and preservatives. The surfactants provide the water resistance, the defoamers provide the UV resistance, and the preservatives provide the mildew resistance.

5. Binders: Binders are used in the formulation of Acrylic Wall Putty to provide additional strength and flexibility. These binders are typically a combination of polyvinyl acetate and styrene-butadiene copolymers. The polyvinyl acetate provides the strength while the styrene-butadiene copolymer provides the flexibility.

6. Solvents: Solvents are used in the formulation of Acrylic Wall Putty to provide additional adhesion and flexibility. These solvents are typically a combination of water and alcohols. The water provides the adhesion while the alcohols provide the flexibility.

7. Thickeners: Thickeners are used in the formulation of Acrylic Wall Putty to provide additional body and texture. These thickeners are typically a combination of cellulose derivatives and polymers. The cellulose derivatives provide the body while the polymers provide the texture.

8. Dispersants: Dispersants are used in the formulation of Acrylic Wall Putty to provide additional adhesion and flexibility. These dispersants are typically a combination of surfactants and emulsifiers. The surfactants provide the adhesion while the emulsifiers provide the flexibility.

9. pH Adjusters: pH adjusters are used in the formulation of Acrylic Wall Putty to provide additional stability and performance. These pH adjusters are typically a combination of acids and bases. The acids provide the stability while the bases provide the performance.

Typical reference formulation of acrylic wall putty as bellow by weight:

20-28 parts of talcum powder,40-50 parts of heavy calcium carbonate,  3.2-5.5 parts of sodium bentonite, 8.5-9.8 parts of a pure acrylic emulsion, 0.2-0.4 part of a defoaming agent, 0.5-0.6 part of a dispersing agent, 0.26-0.4 part of cellulose ether.
