Focus on Cellulose ethers

Different uses of different dry powder mortar additives!

1. Redispersible latex powder

This mouth-watering material is a special high molecular polymer, which is made into powder after spray drying. After contacting with water, this powder can become an emulsion again, and has the same properties as an emulsion. After the water evaporates, it can form a film. The film has high flexibility, high weather resistance, and exhibits high adhesion to various substrates.

Therefore, it is an indispensable raw material in dry-mixed mortar, which can improve performance, increase strength, improve the adhesion of dry powder mortar to various substrates, improve the flexibility, compressive strength, and wear resistance of dry powder mortar. In addition, If it is mixed with hydrophobic latex powder, it can make the dry powder mortar waterproof.

2. Cellulose

Cellulose with different viscosities has different uses. Cellulose can be used in low-grade putty powder for interior walls, which can thicken water retention and increase leveling. It is chemically stable, can prevent mildew, has good water retention effect, and is not affected by changes in pH value. It can be used from 50,000 to 200,000 viscosities. The bond strength is inversely proportional, the viscosity is high, but the strength is small, generally between 50,000 and 100,000. It is mainly to increase the leveling and constructability of dry powder mortar, and appropriately reduce the amount of cement.

In addition, cement mortar has a solidification period. During the solidification period, manual maintenance is required to keep it moist. Due to the water retention of cellulose, the moisture required for the solidification of the mortar can be obtained from the water retention of the cellulose, so it can be solidified without special maintenance.

3. Lignin

The role of lignin in dry powder mortar is to resist cracking. When lignin is dispersed in water, it exists in the form of short fibers. For example, when building walls with soil in domestic areas, wheat straw and rice straw are added to prevent cracking. When using lignin, it is best to choose pure materials without impurities. When identifying lignin, you can turn the lignin to see if there is any dust left. The more powder, the worse the quality. Or put a little lignin into water and observe, the better the dispersion, the better the quality, which means that if it is added to dry powder mortar, it is easy to disperse and will not form a ball.

4. Inorganic bonding material

Ash calcium powder is calcium hydroxide, a commonly used inorganic bonding material. It mainly plays a bonding role in putty powder to achieve waterproof and water-resistant effects. There are many limestone producing areas in China, so the production of lime calcium powder is relatively common. However, in some places, the putty mortar made of lime calcium powder produced can burn off the skin of the hands during construction. Exothermic reaction, so the draft of ash calcium powder is highly alkaline. The larger the draft, the more unstable it is, and it is easy to crack when it is scratched on the wall. We are looking for a material with a relatively stable ash calcium powder, which has a small draft, good whiteness, and does not erode hands.
